When wit, talent, creativity, sensitivity and experience is mixed, we can not expect any other result than that offered by this little genius Kiko. We’re in luck!
-Dani DaOrtiz

For our June meeting we are thrilled to present a special lecture from visiting Spanish magician Kiko Pastur. This lecture has a great deal to offer regardless of your area of interest in magic or your skill level. In addition to sophisticated material relying on sleight of hand, Kiko  employs subtle psychological strategies and misdirection. On top of that he weaves his magic with profound stories, imagery and metaphors. Or as one magician put it:

Kiko is for me the essence of poetic sensitivity in magic. And the originality in their tricks, acts and magical-poetic-musical shows.
-Juan Tamariz

Kiko has appeared on Penn & Teller: Fool Us and multiple times at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. We’re pleased to welcome him to Canada to present for our members.

Tickets are free for members. Guests are welcome; tickets available below. Special thanks to Derrick Chung and the Montreal Magic Jam crew for making this event possible.

Announcing the October Lecture (not quite in October)

To accommodate travel schedules, our October Lecture will be in the Last Week of September! (Because we ALL need more Spanish magic in our lives.)

Alfredo Marchese from Spain

When: Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 7:00 PM

Where: Fairview Public Library (35 Fairview Mall Drive – map)

Admission: FREE for Members ($20 for guests – tickets at the door)

Travelling all the way from Spain, Alfredo Marchese, or as he is often known on stage, Magic Alan, will present “A Different Lecture” based on 35 years experience as a professional performer. Those familiar with the famous “Spanish School of Magic” know that they have a well-earned reputation for taking card tricks and turning them into deeply deceptive, emotionally powerful card miracles. Even better is the way in which they generously offer to explain all the thinking and obsessing over details that went into it.

If there’s one thing we all need, it’ more Spanish magic in our lives!

Alfredo Marchese’s magic is intelligent, original and entertaining. But not every excellent performer is a good lecturer, too. Alfredo, however, has that rare talent of being able to marry his skills as an international professional performer with the analytical yet always practical thinking that is the hallmark of the Spanish School of Thought.

His lecture is broad and deep at the same time, teaching superlative effects, and at the same time talking about the essence of magic, which can be applied to any type of magic.
